Extant in version 0.1.4.9

This leaks like a sieve.

Just picking a few colours can leak hundreds of GDI and User objects.

I expect to fix it in the next release.

The symptom is probably an error message, possibly without any content. Also other applications will start to suffer redraw problems. If you can shut down Iridium, your other applications should recover.
